Pouring a small amount of water on the film’s surface can reveal its hydrophobic characteristics—high-quality PPF causes water to bead up and roll off easily, reducing dirt accumulation.
Another practical test is gently scratching the surface with a fingernail or a soft object to assess scratch resistance. While you shouldn’t use excessive force, a superior PPF will resist minor abrasions and self-heal from light scratches due to its elastomeric top coat.
